Mats for pipeline construction

Pipeline spreads move a lot of heavy equipment along a narrow right-of-way, often across soft ground, farmland and wet areas. Mats provide travel lanes and work pads along the line, letting sidebooms, excavators and trucks keep moving while limiting damage to the land the pipeline crosses.

The challenge

  • Long, varied routesA single right-of-way can cross cultivated fields, bush, muskeg and creek valleys.
  • Heavy, moving equipmentSidebooms, excavators and pipe trucks travel the line constantly, often fully loaded.
  • Landowner and land careRights-of-way cross private and public land that has to be protected and restored.

How our mats help

  2. 02
Stable work padsInterlocked mats give a firm base for lifting, lowering-in and tie-in work.
  3. 03
Reduced disturbanceSpreading loads over mats limits rutting, mixing and compaction of soils along the right-of-way.

Common questions

Can mats be moved along the line as the work progresses?

Yes. Mats are commonly leapfrogged along the right-of-way, picked up behind the work and laid ahead of it.

Can you supply large orders for pipeline projects?

No order is too large or too small. Our mud-free yard and bigger forklifts mean fast loading for big orders.
